Urinary Health

Urinary tract infections are very common in women, babies and the elderly.

The most common cause is a bacteria called E. coli, which usually lives in the bowel. Infection can target the urethra, bladder or kidneys. Approximately 50% of women and 5% of men will contract a UTI in their lifetime.

Symptoms can include

  • a burning sensation during urination
  • frequent or intense urge to urinate, even when you have little urine to pass
  • pain in your back or lower abdomen
  • a pressure sensation in your pelvic area
  • cloudy, dark, bloody, or unusual-smelling urine
  • fever or chills
